ISM is excited to host IASAS Soccer 2025. We look forward to an exciting competition with friendly interactions and competitive rivalry between all IASAS teams.
Congratulations to all team members on the hard work and dedication you have demonstrated to be selected for your school’s team. The results of your preparation and efforts will be reflected in your individual and teams’ performance over the next three days. In any competition it is often the mental preparation on match day that is so important. Can you be and give your best on that day? That is the question that will be asked of you during the days ahead. My hope is that all of you will be able to find your “best form” and be able to sit at the closing ceremony happy with your individual performance and your contribution to the team.
IASAS values sportsmanship. It is important to cheer hard and loud for your own team and also to appreciate the great performances that you will see from your fellow competitors. Genuine congratulations and appreciation of great sporting effort(s) from individuals on opposing teams is a true reflection of an “athlete”.
I would like to give a special thanks to all the ISM families that have volunteered to house the IASAS Soccer athletes. The hosting of athletes and parental support to open your homes is greatly appreciated by all schools and remains a cornerstone of what makes IASAS special. I would also like to recognize and give my special thanks to all those that have helped with the planning, organization and running of this IASAS event.
I wish all IASAS athletes, visiting parents and coaches the very best and hope that you enjoy the season 1 IASAS Soccer Championships in Manila.
Yours in Sport,
Dear IASAS Soccer Participants,
On behalf of the ISM community, I extend a warm welcome to all participants, coaches, families, and supporters attending the 2025 IASAS Soccer Tournament here in Manila.
IASAS tournaments provide outstanding opportunities for student-athletes to challenge themselves in competition while continuing to develop the friendships and connections that unite our schools and athletes. I encourage each of you to embrace this experience fully, make new friends, strengthen connections, and represent your schools and families with pride.
Congratulations to all the athletes who have committed countless hours of practice and preparation leading up to this event. Your dedication, resilience, and pursuit of excellence are commendable. Play hard, play fair, and uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, both on and off the field.
A heartfelt thank you to the coaches for your hard work and guidance in preparing your teams not just for competition, but for the values of respect and teamwork that define IASAS events. Your efforts are evident in the growth and spirit demonstrated by your athletes.
Parents, your unwavering support and encouragement have been instrumental in your children’s journey to this tournament. Take a moment to celebrate their efforts and personal growth, regardless of the final scores. Be proud of the character and commitment they have shown.
Thank you to all our host families for so generously welcoming our visitors into your homes. Home stays are an integral part of IASAS and we are grateful to our community for their support. Thanks also to Mark Pekin, our Athletics Director, who has put so much work into this tournament and to his assistants Andy, Rhyss, Syd, and Pam. Thanks also to Lito, Arnel, Jojo, Lito, Rod, and Ronald, our ATAC assistants, for their hard work in making sure that everything runs smoothly.
I look forward to cheering on the ISM Bearcats in their contests against the Eagles, Tigers, Dragons, and the Panthers of ISKL and ISB. Yet, I will be equally inspired by the performances and sportsmanship of all athletes, regardless of school affiliation.
Enjoy a great tournament!
